Campaign Photography
What is campaign photography?
Campaign photography is where artists take inspiring pictures of a variety of campaigns what they may have strong feeling about such as (e.g bullying, racism etc..) and aim to promote us, to stop, and deliver a powerful message.
Examples of campaign photography-
RACISM
An organisation called ' LetsFightRacism ' aim to prevent racism. This picture shows a mixed Caribbean British boy who is being labelled as either a model, student or gang leader as people will have responded to the question ' What do you see? ', people in my opinion will probably chose ' Gang Leader ' from a stereo typical point of view. Stereotypes can be found for every race and ethnicity, almost quite aside from any racist or prejudicial purpose. There are negative race-based stereotypes and positive race-based stereotypes, however even "positive" stereotype isn't positive if it presses students into molds not built for them individually. In many cases, we stereotype groups of people because it has become an unconscious part of our minds or simply because society has told us that stereotyping is okay to do when it isn't .

Bullying
My idea for my campaign photography
Self Image
Self esteem is how you feel about yourself, Self Image is about how you see yourself and how you believe others perceive you. They are closely connected because if you have a poor opinion of yourself your self esteem will be low.
Therefore I would like to make people aware of this topic because I feel strongly that many people feel uncomfortable with there flaws and try cover it up with makeup or even have surgery trying to make themselves look like celebrity's or models when 100% of fashion magazines have either been photo shopped or retouched.

First shoot-
plan-
For my first shoot I will print out a variaty of facial features that society has classed as 'perfect'. Then I will place the printed features in front of my models faces giving the illusion that it is actually there features. I will take the photographs against a brick wall so that they focus on the models.
Before -
This was my first attempt of photo-shop, I tried using different filters to try give it a more effective look. I photo-shopped her eyes because she didn't like how her eyes looked. My idea was to change peoples flaws to perfections . I took the photo against the brick wallbecause it drew more attention to the person I was focusing on. I used a large depth of field and placed my focus point on the models face. The photograph has been taken using perfect exposure.
Second shoot-
My plan is to photoshop someone inside a dolls box. My idea is to deliver a message that females in todays society are getting pressured to look more like a doll. I will take a photo of miss against a plain background so it will be easier to photoshop. Then I will find an image of a barbie doll packaging. Finally I will photoshop miss inside the doll box.
Here I have focused on taking a full length photograph of the models body. I took it against a plain background so thats it's easier to photoshop. The focus point was on the whole picture.
Best-
Third shoot-
On this shoot I plan to make a reflection of a doll, but this time change the ethnicity. I want to do this to show variety. I will need a tripod and and use the self timer. This will mean I have to line myself up with the mirror.
Final shoot-
In this photograph I have tried to show that you are under pressure as a teenage girl. Society tries to brain wash people into believing to be beautiful you have to look like a barbie doll. I think this picture above has a strong composition and delivers a powerful message.
